The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the World Food Programme (WFP) have forged a partnership aimed at extending humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, committing a substantial sum of $10 million towards food aid.

In a significant development, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Supervisor General of KSrelief, and WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain convened to formalize this agreement on Tuesday.

The collaborative endeavor seeks to address the pressing needs of vulnerable populations within Ukraine, particularly targeting orphanages, hospitals, and centers catering to displaced individuals. With an estimated reach of 141,000 beneficiaries, this initiative is poised to make a tangible impact amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

This strategic intervention underscores Saudi Arabia’s steadfast dedication, channeled through KSrelief, towards bolstering global food security and ameliorating the plight of displaced communities. Such endeavors are undertaken in close collaboration with specialized United Nations agencies, reflecting a concerted effort towards alleviating suffering and fostering resilience on an international scale.
