Under the auspices of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, the Iraq Development Fund, Ministry of Oil, and Ministry of Electricity inked multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with US corporations on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the MoUs were inked during a ceremony hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC, where Iraqi private sector enterprises signed deals with US companies.

The Iraqi Electricity Ministry signed a MoU with

General Electric (GE) to expand the energy industry in Iraq.

The Iraqi Oil Ministry signed an agreement with Honeywell to enter into a partnership aiming to develop strategic plans for oil fields and associated gas, as well as an agreement with GE to develop oil fields and utilize associated gas.

The Iraq Development Fund signed a MoU with Mack Trucks Inc. to manufacture customized trucks.

Iraqi private sector companies signed many agreements with KBR, TransAtlantic Petroleum, Honeywell, Baker Hughes, Emerson Electric Co., GE, and Ark Energy to develop oil fields and process associated gas.

The National Bank of Iraq (NBI) also signed an agreement with the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

The MoUs additionally included an agreement with Baxter International Inc. to provide products for kidney disease treatment.
