The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has officially announced the convening of the second ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the GCC countries and Central Asian states. This significant gathering is slated to take place on April 15 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The meeting, chaired by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, alongside Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, is poised to host foreign ministers from both the GCC and Central Asia.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi underscored the group’s steadfast dedication to nurturing robust ties and strategic cooperation. This commitment is guided by the Joint Action Plan for 2023-2027, which was formally ratified in September 2022.
The dialogue’s agenda will encompass discussions on bilateral relations, as well as pertinent regional and international developments. It serves as a platform for both regions to explore avenues for collaboration and address shared challenges effectively.
As the GCC and Central Asia continue to navigate a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape, this dialogue assumes heightened significance. It provides an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in constructive exchanges aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation.
