Police have found a decomposing body with a plastic bag wrapped around the head in an apartment in the Bronx. A foul odor coming from a Bronx apartment led to the grim discovery.
Confirming the discovery on Sunday, cops found the body about 7:50 p.m. Saturday after gaining access to the apartment on Ogden Ave. near W. 167th St. in Highbridge.
A 911 caller had complained about the smell coming from the apartment, police said.
The corpse was on the floor with a bag over the head. It’s not clear if the person died of suicide or foul play, and an autopsy will determine the case of death, an NYPD spokesman said.
Police were not able to immediately determine the victim’s age or gender.
