Cyprus has announced that effective from Monday July 5, flights coming from Lebanon will no longer be accepted into the country.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the Cypriot embassy on Sunday July 4, 2020.
The statement said the decision was based on a classification system that determines countries’ epidemiological criteria amid COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Cypriot nationals and residents would be allowed re-entry into the country according to the embassy.
The embassy added that it would “have to suspend visa services again until further notice”.
The country has rates for countries, which include category A for safe countries and category B for riskier countries among others.
As life returns to normal and activities are recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, foreign nationals are facing stricter entry requirements into Cyprus.
Different from the latest announcement, Cyprus had earlier in June allowed entry from Lebanon as it eases COVID-19 lockdown measures.
