The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, denouncing Israel’s “collective punishment and genocidal war” in the Gaza Strip.

His comments came in a message to the United Nations Office in Vienna, marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on November 29.

The message was delivered by Qatar’s ambassador to Austria, Jassim Al Hammadi, according to the Qatari News Agency (QNA).

“Sheikh Tamim emphasized that solidarity with the Palestinian people this year holds special significance, especially given the collective punishment and genocidal war those oppressed people are enduring, which spares no civilians,” stated QNA.

He also highlighted Israel’s obstruction of humanitarian aid to Gaza and the “forcible displacement” of Palestinians.

This year’s International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People was commemorated amid an intensifying crisis in Gaza, where Israeli actions have persisted for over a year, drawing widespread condemnation.

Qatar has consistently championed the Palestinian cause on global platforms, with Sheikh Tamim dedicating numerous speeches to highlighting Palestine’s plight. Under his initiative, Qatar has evacuated over 500 wounded individuals from Gaza, accompanied by more than 800 companions and 700 individuals with special cases.

Qatar has also committed to treating 1,500 injured Palestinians and sponsoring 3,000 orphans from the besieged enclave.
