Royal decree restructures Bahrain national health regulatory authority

The King of Bahrain, His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Royal Decree (103) of 2024, introducing a new organizational structure for Bahrain’s National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).
The decree was issued upon the recommendation of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and following Cabinet approval.
Under the new framework, the NHRA will operate with a Chief Executive at its helm, supported by a Deputy Chief Executive holding the rank of Assistant Undersecretary. The Deputy Chief Executive will oversee two key directorates: Regulatory Affairs Directorate and Healthcare Facilities Oversight Directorate
The restructuring aims to enhance efficiency and regulatory oversight in Bahrain’s healthcare sector.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health has been tasked with implementing the provisions of the decree, which took effect immediately upon issuance. The full text of the decree will be published in the Official Gazette.
