UAE celebrates 12th annual Flag Day, government calls for celebration love, loyalty

The United Arab Emirates is celebrating its 12th annual Flag Day today, November 1st, with a vibrant display of national pride and unity.

The UAE flag represents the country’s values of justice, peace, tolerance, strength, and moderation, creating a secure and stable environment for all Emiratis to thrive. The legacy is a testament to the enduring vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Flag Day was established in 2013 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to commemorate the accession of the late President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Earlier celebrated on November 3rd, Sheikh Mohammed has called on the public to raise the flag to maximize participation.

In a heartfelt post, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the significance of Flag Day, urging citizens to come together and honor the nation’s flag.

In a post shared on his X account, Sheikh Mohammed wrote that, “Brothers and Sisters, as we do every year, we come together to celebrate Flag Day — an occasion to honor the nation’s flag, the symbol of our country, the secret of our strength, and the source of our pride.”

The post added that, “We call upon all ministries and institutions across the country to raise the UAE flag on the first of November at 11 am, united in our feelings and purpose. We encourage all Emirati citizens to participate in this occasion — a time to express our love for this country, our loyalty to this flag, and our renewed determination to uphold the banner of our Union, pledging to keep it flying high, representing the glory of the UAE.”

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the mother of the Nation, also extended her warmest congratulations on Flag Day. The cherished tradition reinforces unity and patriotism among the Emirati community, serving as a powerful reminder of the country’s values and principles
