Saudi Arabia’s Prince Turki Al-Faisal has strongly condemned the international community’s response to the ongoing Gaza crisis, urging punitive measures against Israel.

In an interview with Al Arabiya News, he emphasised that stopping Israel’s aggression in Gaza requires concrete actions from the US and the global community to hold Israel accountable.

Al-Faisal stressed that the current diplomatic efforts are insufficient, stating, “Stopping the Israeli onslaught on Gaza would require specific action by the United States and the rest of the world community to punish Israel for what it is doing… And none of these countries are willing to do that.”

He also disapproved the UK’s decision to suspend only 30 out of 350 weapons export licenses to Israel, citing Britain’s historical responsibility in shaping the region’s fate through the Balfour Declaration.

He added, “Yesterday, in a talk at one of the British institutions here, I suggested that they recognise the state of Palestine after all these years, especially with Britain having the, specific responsibility of being at the start of all of this with the Balfour Declaration and the subsequent actions that they took or did not take, they need to make a step forward on that aspect of Palestinian state.”

The Prince charged Britain to recognise the state of Palestine, acknowledging the country’s significant role in the region’s history. He suggested that Britain take a step forward in supporting Palestinian statehood, given its past actions and decisions.
