A northern Israeli official has condemned the government for neglecting security in regions facing relentless Hezbollah attacks as the Gaza conflict rages on.
David Azoulai, head of the regional council of Metula, a town near the Lebanese border that has been evacuated due to ongoing assaults, expressed frustration over the government’s lack of action.
Speaking to Israel’s Radio 103, Azoulai lamented the absence of both governmental and military support during the crisis, saying local leaders have been left to fend for themselves.

“Unfortunately, I don’t hear much from either the statesmen or our military personnel. We are in a sort of ‘deal with it yourself and break your head’ situation,” he said. “The Israeli government is not doing anything to remove the threat.”
Azoulai’s comments highlight the growing dissatisfaction among residents in the northern border region, where Hezbollah’s attacks have intensified in recent months. Despite evacuations and heightened tensions, many feel the government has not prioritized their safety, leaving communities vulnerable to further escalation.
