Re: Official Launching of STEMDUP Campaign
Background
When laying down the foundation for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program, President Barack Obama said “Science is more than a school subject, or the periodic table or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world.”
President Obama’s statement has inspired the STEM program to be an education for global leadership. Motivated by President Obama’s statement, the Islamic Leadership is announcing the launch of a pilot program that integrates the tenets of democracy, unity and peace into STEM. If STEM is an approach to the world as President Obama asserts, and a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, then STEMDUP will exit to include democracy, unity and peace education into the mushrooming STEM program.
The Islamic Leadership School that was founded on September 11, 2001 at the time when the extremist flew the planes into the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in New York, is going to be one of the schools that will be piloting the STEMDUP program. In close consultation with The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other stakeholders, the Islamic Leadership School is mobilizing funds to engage academic experts in the sciences and humanities to carry out the content analysis of the existing STEM program and identify areas where the democracy, unity and peace can be integrated.

As-salaam alaikum,
Dear H.E. Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen:
In sha Allah, it is with great humility that I, Sheikh Musa Drammeh, am hereby apprising you, Your Excellency, of my decision to use the privilege vested in me by our Creator (as an ordinary citizen of the world, a member of our human family, and a strenuously striving servant of Allah [SW]) to declare the launching of STEMDUP ERA* Campaign for the Muslim World, on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the hours of 1 O’clock and 2 O’clock Eastern Standard Time on the steps of City Hall, New York City.
I, along with my colleagues in the service of pleasing Allah (SW) alone on this initiative and for the benefit of the Muslim Ummah, humbly demand, through Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), that member nations, as a matter of urgency, should immediately adopt ‘STEMDUP ERA’ as their primary focal point for the coming century of 2018-2118.
This declaration and its new campaign shall phase out the regressive focus on the century old ‘Balfour Declaration’ in the expense of STEMDUP in the Muslim world, without eliminating our obligation to peacefully resolve the critical issues concerning the Holy Land and other issues affecting sustained developments in Muslim Nations.
Al-arḍul-Muqaddasah (the Holy Land) conflict has never been the Muslim’s main problem, but rather a unifying excuse to cover the failure of implementing STEMDUP by Muslim Leadership.
STEMDUP ERA, which garnered an overwhelming endorsements and support from religious, political, academic, business, and community leaders, and people of goodwill, shall insha Allah bring innovativeness and socioeconomic progress among OIC members – a dawn of new era of transformation from stagnant to progress.
