By It had earlier been reported that the NASA party led by Raila Odinga would announce the venue of the leader’s inauguration ceremony at 2pm on Sunday 10, December 2017.
However, the announcement was not heard until the evening, when the party informed that the inauguration of their President had been postponed.
Raila Odinga, the opposition leader who insisted would be sworn in even if it meant being charged for treason, has assured his supporters not to lose hope and faith, for the day will surely come.
The World has been alert to watch what happens in Kenya on Tuesday 12, December 2017, the day that Mr. Odinga had earlier chosen to be sworn in as the ‘People’s President’, but according to the changes, everyone will have to wait a bit longer.
According to the NASA opposition party, the function has been called off to a later date that they will announce with time, after some internal and international consultations.
Musalia Mudavadi, the NASA principal added and emphasized that the resolve to swear-in Odinga has not changed, urging supporters to remain vigilant.
‘We will announce the new date at a later time, we will also announce new resistance measures soon,’ he explained.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the People’s Assemblies Organizing Committee Jared Maaka Siso said one of the options they are considering is swearing-in Kalonzo as Deputy President outside the country, where he is currently attending to his ailing wife.
According to the coalition’s organizing committee, the inauguration of Raila and Kalonzo Musyoka is constitutional and legal in all regards. They therefore do not expect to be interrupted in the process as there will be nothing done against the law.
Raila Odinga, has however continued to ask the diplomatic community to keep their noses out of Kenya’s issues, and insisted on never to accept Uhuru Kenyatta as Kenya’s President.
