Ningbo: Nearly two people were killed and many of them injured during an explosion in the eastern Chinese port city of Ningbo, according to official reports, the blast occurred at 9:00 am on November 26th, 2017 in the Jiangbei District resultant the collapse of nearby buildings.

It was reported that the blast occurred at a factory, and majority of those present at the time of the blast were brought to were either burnt badly or dead.

State agency stated that rescuers carrying injured and dead bodies took away from that area surrounded by debris reported that the number of casualties might increase.

Government took a strong action against industries by canceling their licenses due to increase of industrial accidents across the country and trying to promote growing calls for better safety standards.

Finance Minister said, “It has been tightening site inspections and toughening punishments for safety lapses.”

Furthermore, the number of workplace deaths in 2017 is reported to have fallen by more than 25% on 2016 – industrial fatalities still number at least 29,000 in the year to date.

However, Ningbo has a large international shipping port and is best known for its auto-manufacturing industry.
