Saudi Arabia opens driving schools for women across the country
Riyadh: On October 1, 2017 Saudi soil after promoting women empowerment across the country, opened driving institutes at various places for them especially in Princess Nourah University, according to states News Agency.
The Women University said, “Princess Nourah University is preparing to set up a driving school in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
“This is the first time in the history of Saudi Arabia about such announcement following this week by the order of King Salman.”
It has been acknowledged that Saudi Arabia was the only Islamic state around the world which banned women taking the wheel, so that King up lifted the ban (that was considered as the symbol of repression) on women driving to give them equal rights in society.
According to the King’s order, special driving schools has been opened, it would allow driving permits for women under a royal decree to take effect.
Furthermore, various car companies Nissan, Chevrolet and Ford congratulated Saudi Women on their basic right to use.
It has been noticed that millions of Saudi women would be expected to hit the road in next few years.
