SOUTH AFRICA- On Tuesday, 11th of July, according to reports, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa, Andrei Molchan, met with the Deputy Director General of the Department (Ministry) of Higher Education and Training of South Africa, Diane Parker.

It is reported that the Belarusian delegation was also represented by Vice-rector for scientific work of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics, Anatoli Osipov.

According to the report filed in from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the meeting was set to discuss the intensification of cooperation between Belarus and South Africa in the field of education.

During the meeting, they pinpointed some promising areas to include the exchange of students and master / Ph.D students, joint training of personnel, the activation of contacts between universities on issues of scientific researches and the development of the legal framework in the relevant field.

In another news, the general public is invited to attend a Media Briefing of South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) in partnership with First National Bank (FNB) which will see a signing ceremony presided by the Honourable Minister, Dr Rob Davies.

It is reported that the dti and FNB are working together to improve access to finance for manufacturers, particularly the previously disadvantaged and/or predominately black owned businesses. It is against this background that a “Pledge of Cooperation” will be signed during the event.

The Media Briefing and Signing is slated to hold on Tuesday, 25th of July, and the venue billed is the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 191 Oxford Rd, Rosebank, Johannesburg, at exactly 09h30.
