Mayor Bill de Blasio pledged to make New York City a safe and open community for all who live here, regardless of immigration status.

The work of our office is, at its heart, about inclusion. New York City’s Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs works to ensure that all immigrant New Yorkers are part of the City and have access to justice, and advocates for continued immigration reforms at all levels of government in order to eliminate inequities that impact New York’s immigrant communities. From creating a municipal ID program for all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status, to launching an immigration legal services program that provides free and safe legal support for every immigrant New Yorker in their neighborhood and in their language, as well as establishing ActionHealthNYC with the aim of creating better immigrant access to health care, our policy initiatives and programs help millions of immigrants build safer, more stable, and more economically viable lives in New York City.

The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs is here to assist and advocate for all immigrant New Yorkers. This is our mission and our promise.
