Once again we have the honor to invite you to our 6th Africa Day Celebration in the Bronx, New York City.

In July 2006 African Union Day Foundation in collaboration with the New York City Council (under the leadership of Hon. Annabel Palma, the Bronx) initiated City Council Resolution to make September 9th official African Union Day in the City, which was unanimously adopted by the Council in the following year on September 9, 2007.

Again in 2011, the Foundation collaborated with the New York State Assembly (under the leadership of Hon. Hakeem Jefferies, Brooklyn) and the African Union Secretariat to officially make May 25thAfrica Day in New York State.

This year, the Foundation is going further, by using Africa Day to unite the descendants of the continent to push for greater civic participations, especially during this year’s crucial local and national elections.  All are welcome!
