As the nation debates about what to do with the high population of the incarcerated men and increasingly young women, New York Peace Coalition, on the other hand, focuses on the root causes of the problems, the family. Many reports link broken homes with other societal ills, including the high rate of incarcerations and recidivism.
That is why we’ve decided to dedicate our March ‘Peacemakers Dinner’ this Friday to women in our lives. We ask people coming to the dinner to bring the women in their lives and flowers for them. Thank God, we have already exceeded our targeted RSVP.
