MAJORITY LEADER JIMMY VAN BRAMER HOLDS HIS 5TH ANNUAL WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION

AND OPEN HOUSE EVENT

On March 28th, New York City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer held his Fifth Annual Women’s History Month Celebration and Open House at his District Office in Sunnyside. The Council Member honored seven outstanding women and girls for their achievements in the community:

•         Saoirse Boyle, Girl Scouts Troop 4547 of Sunnyside and Woodside

•         Mary Ceruti, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the SculptureCenter

•         Jean ChappellMember of the Woodside Houses Tenants Association

•         Tomoko Kawamoto, Public Relations manager at Museum of the Moving Image

•         Betty Horak, Civic Leader and member of the Northern Ridgewood Democratic Club

•         Dorothy Maskara, Girl Scouts Troop 4547 of Sunnyside and Woodside

•         Thea Romano, President of the Dutch Kills Civic Association

The annual event is also a terrific opportunity for community residents to meet Council Member Van Bramer and members of his team to learn more about their responsibilities and gather more insight about programs and services within the district.
