Imam Konate’s Nephew Gunned Down in Newark
Zoumana Wilson Coulibaly, nephew of famed NYC Imam, Konate, was shot on the 100-block of Leslie Street and later died on Tuesday, June 10th, the same day, at the University Hospital in Newark, NJ. The person charged with his murder is a 17-year-old, unidentified by police due to his age, who was arrested Wednesday night by detectives from the Homicide Task Force.
The 17-year-old is being held at the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center, according to NJ.com. He is set to appear in the Family Division of the Superior Court and faces charges of murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, the article says.
Coulibaly was a freshman at Weequahic High School in Newark and is survived by his mother, father, and extended family.
