Authorities in South Sudan have confirmed that Sudan’s president Omar al-Bashir will soon pay an official visit to the country.

During a press interview on Thursday, South Sudan government spokesman, Benjamin Barnaba Marial said that arrangements to host president Bashir had been finalized.

‘Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir’s April 12th visit to Juba has been confirmed’. Barnaba Marial said. ‘During his visit, Bashir will hold talks with South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the cooperation agreements.’President Bashir will also officially inaugurate the Sudanese embassy in Buluk.

The Sudanese leader was indicted by the International criminal court (ICC) several years ago. Although he travels to certain countries, the choice of his destination is carefully made so that he does not go to countries that can arrest him and hand him over to ICC.

Bashir is expected to travel with a delegation of more than 60 people including investors, ministers and government officials. The investors are scheduled to meet with the South Sudanese business community.
