Authorities in Kenya have said that a Canadian journalist and a renowned conservationist died on Sunday evening when a light 2 seat
aircraft they were travelling in crashed near Mt Kenya.

According Mt Kenya national park official, Simon Gitau the aircraft which crashed belong to Laikipia Wildlife Forum (LWF). It had
reportedly left for the flight in good condition.

He said,’The plane crashed on Sunday afternoon while at 14,500 feet above sea level near Lake Michaelson. Laikipia Wildlife
conservationist, Anthony King was the one piloting the plane when it crashed.’

Police is investigating the cause of the crash but preliminary reports indicate that it could have crashed due to strong winds.

Police is yet to announce the name of the Canadian journalist who died in the crash.

Last year three Uganda army Helicopters crashed near Mt Kenya under mysterious circumstances as they were being flown to Somalia for AMISOM mission.
