The media fraternity is eagerly waiting for for US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) which is expected to arrive in Juba this week to assist the South Sudan Government in investigating the killing of journalist Ding Chan Awoul also  known as Isaiah Abraham.

According to the journalists,state security agencies in South Sudan lack capacity to thoroughly investigate crime.

One of them, John Bosco Winyi said, ‘We believe that if the state cooperates with FBI, those responsible for killing our colleague will be known and arrested.We all want the culprits to be dealt with sternly.’

A press statement released by the US Embassy in South Sudan said that  FBI will uphold and enforce the criminal laws and  provide leadership and assistane to the State.

The deceased journalist, Isaiah Abraham was shot dead on 5 December by unknown gunmen. He was killed  at his home in Gudele residential area in Juba.

South Sudan president, Salva Kiir Mayardit has reportedly accepted an offer from the US Ambassador to South Sudan, Susan Page for FBI assistance to help the government to bring Abraham’s killers to justice.
