Police and other security organizations in Kenya’s capital of Nairobi are on first class alert after getting information that a vehicle
carrying bombs had been spotted in the city.

Members of the public are living in fear of the bombs after getting news of the vehicle.

‘I have been very careful since I got news about the bombs, ‘said Hilary Oundo a resident of Nairobi. ‘I now fear going to public places
because am aware they are the targets of the militants.’

According to police in Nairobi, they got information that a navy blue Subaru Forester car registration number KAQ 152E, was carrying bombs ready for detonation.

The vehicle, with three occupants, was reportedly spotted in Nairobi on Thursday.Since then it’s whereabouts are unknown. It was spotted in Ngara area and Tom Mboya Street within the city but sped off to an unknown direction.

‘We have mobilized officers within the city and its environs. They are on high alert. We have also beefed up security on areas frequented by many people.’ said Nairobi criminal investigations department chief, Nicholas Kamwende.

Nairobi and other towns of Kenya have in the past few months been targets of bombs detonated by suspected Al Shabab militants. Over
twenty people have died in bomb blasts in the past few months. Some of the attacks have been carried out in churches.

Police in Kenya has members of the public urged to assist the police in tracking down the vehicle by calling numbers 0729-999988 or
020-2724154.
