A South African woman has stepped in the path to Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai weekend wedding by claiming that she is the rightful fiancee.

This comes comes just a day after the High Court of Zimbabwe threw out a similar bid by a Zimbabwean woman, Locardia Tembo, a former lover of Tsvangirai, who had attempted to block the wedding.

Tsvangirai is set to wed 35 yr old Elizabeth Macheka in Harare church tomorrow. Thousands of his supporters are eagerly waiting for the occasion.

This time it is South African Nosipho Regina Shulubane who has filed an application at the magistrate’s court seeking to block the Saturday marriage, claiming Tsvangirai had promised to marry her.

Shulubane said,’ He is my man. We are still very much in love and as such I object to granting of a marriage licence. In February 2011, Morgan proposed and asked me to marry him and he indicated that he wanted to have a wedding ceremony and wed me in Zimbabwe.’

But the prime minister’s aides have rubbished the two women’ claims. His spokesman, Luke Tamborinyoka said,’Those two women’s claims are not true. It is evident these are not normal claims.’

Claiming she was customarily married to the prime minister, Tembo had demanded $15,000 a month in maintenance expenses for her upkeep. She said she is to appeal against court ruling.

The wedding is expected to be attended by regional leaders and senior government officials.
