ADVISORY: “REMEMBER ME RUN” HONORS 9/11 FIRST RESPONDERS

 

On September 8th, Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. will attend the “Remember Me Run,” which honors the brave FDNY, NYPD and PAPD officers who lost their lives on 9/11.

All proceeds raised by the run will go to the Christopher Santora Scholarship Fund, which helps the children of those who died on the World Trade Center pile pay for higher education.

Sign-up for the run begins at 1 p.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery on the corner of 49th Street and Astoria Boulevard, and the run will begin at 2 p.m. sharp.

At roughly 3 p.m., the ceremony will commence with prayers and the singing of our national anthem, followed by remarks from elected officials in attendance and a video memorial featuring photos of First Responders who perished at the World Trade Center.
