UAE urges unity amidst Syria transformative shift

The United Arab Emirates says it is keeping a close watch on Syria’s rapidly evolving situation, reaffirming its commitment to the nation’s “unity and integrity.”
The foreign ministry, in a statement, said that the UAE urged all parties in Syria to exercise wisdom during this pivotal moment in the country’s history, stressing the importance of fulfilling the aspirations of all segments of the Syrian population.
The statement comes as Damascus entered a new and uncertain chapter, with armed opposition forces seizing the capital and President Bashar al-Assad fleeing to Russia after 13 years of devastating civil war and over five decades of his family’s authoritarian rule.
