Authorities issue alerts as rough seas, rain mark UAE National Day weekend
As UAE residents celebrate the National Day holidays, authorities have issued orange and yellow alerts for rough seas, warning of hazardous conditions in the Arabian Gulf, where the waters will range from very rough to rough, and in the Oman Sea, where moderate to rough conditions are expected at times.
Residents have been urged to avoid swimming, diving, or engaging in marine activities during this period as the UAE’s cooler season ushers in a mix of wind, rain, and refreshing temperatures.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts light rainfall across parts of the country today, with low clouds adorning the skies and adding to the festive charm of the National Day long weekend.
Temperatures are set to dip further, with mountainous regions reaching a brisk 9°C, while internal areas will experience highs of up to 25°C.
Winds will remain moderate to fresh, intensifying at times, particularly over the sea, creating dusty conditions inland. With these brisk changes, the NCM has cautioned residents and visitors planning outdoor activities to stay vigilant, especially near coastal areas where conditions could turn unpredictable.
Humidity levels will vary significantly, falling to 15% in mountainous areas and climbing to 85% in coastal and internal regions, contributing to the unique blend of seasonal weather.
The NCM has emphasized the importance of following official updates and refraining from spreading unverified information. As celebrations sweep across the nation, the changing weather brings both excitement and the need for caution, reminding everyone to prioritize safety while enjoying the UAE’s National Day festivities.
