In a powerful display of unity, more than 125,000 people marched through London on Saturday as part of the 22nd National Demonstration for Palestine, held on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

Organized by groups including the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and Stop the War Coalition, the march began at Park Lane and ended at Whitehall, sending a strong message of justice and accountability to the UK government.

The event carried added significance following the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) recent arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over alleged war crimes.

Protesters called on the UK to sever diplomatic, military, and economic ties with Israel, impose an arms embargo, and align with international law by supporting ICC actions.

Speakers at the rally stressed the urgency of addressing Palestinian rights. Labour MP Kim Johnson criticized the UK government’s complicity in Israeli policies and demanded a fundamental shift in Britain’s foreign approach.

Independent MP Jeremy Corbyn condemned Israel’s actions as apartheid and decried the international community’s failure to act. He said earlier on Facebook: “On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we call on the government to end its participation in genocide.
“We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, today and every day, until there is a free and independent Palestine.”

Halima Begum, CEO of Oxfam, called for immediate humanitarian support coupled with a long-term political resolution to the violence.

The protest ended with demands for the UK to halt arms sales to Israel, cease shielding Israeli officials from accountability, and actively support Palestinian freedom and self-determination.

The massive turnout marked one of the largest demonstrations of its kind, reflecting growing public opposition to UK policies perceived as enabling Israel’s ragging bloodshed in Gaza and beyond.
