Two people have lost their lives in a devastating hotel fire that broke out in Dubai’s Baniyas Square, near the Naif area.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick, black smoke billowing from the hotel around 11:55 pm on Friday.

Emergency response teams and fire trucks swiftly arrived at the scene, responding to the chaos that ensued.

Eyewitnesses who recounted the shocking events described hearing screams and seeing shattered windows with thick smoke pouring out.

“I was about to close my store when I heard the commotion,” the resident told Khaleej Times. “People were screaming from those windows. It was chaotic.” Another witness, Sharif, was walking home from work when he saw emergency vehicles rushing to the scene.

Sharif described the scene: “The whole road was cordoned off, and pedestrians were redirected. I saw thick smoke billowing out of the hotel’s windows, but the blaze wasn’t visible.”

The incident drew a large crowd, with the street remaining closed until Fajr prayers.

The swift response from emergency services helped minimize casualties, but the tragic loss of life serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures.
