Israeli forces raid on Jenin refugee camp leaves two Palestinians dead
The Israeli army fatally shot two Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported on Saturday that their teams “arrived at the location of the bodies of two martyrs in the Jenin camp, but the occupation forces prevented them from receiving the bodies and demanded that the paramedics leave.”
The PRCS said in a subsequent statement that Israeli forces “prevented the transfer of two injuries in Jenin camp to the hospital for the third time.”
According to eyewitnesses cited by Anadolu, the Israeli army’s ongoing military operation in Jenin and its refugee camp has resulted in substantial damage and destruction.
Palestine TV broadcast footage showing the extent of the damage, including the eastern neighborhood where shops, infrastructure, and the Khalid ibn al-Walid Mosque were targeted. Clashes also spread to the town of Kafr Dan, where the army besieged a house amid armed confrontations.
The Israeli army launched a large-scale operation in the northern West Bank cities of Tulkarm, Jenin, and Tubas on Wednesday, described as the “largest” since 2002. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that the death toll in the northern West Bank since Wednesday has risen to 22.
Tensions remain high across the occupied West Bank amid the Israeli offensive on Gaza, which has claimed over 40,600 Palestinian lives, mostly women and children, since October 7 last year.
