Hamas urges International Criminal Court action against Israel following Gaza conflict
Hamas has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to take immediate action, holding Israel accountable for alleged war crimes committed during the recent Gaza conflict. The call comes in the wake of what Hamas describes as a “military defeat” for Israel, specifically referencing an attack on the al-Maghazi refugee camp, where at least 70 people lost their lives.
In a statement, Hamas member Izzat al-Rishq accused Israel of “terrorizing civilians” in Gaza, asserting that such actions occurred following what they perceived as a military setback. Al-Rishq drew parallels, stating, “Whenever the Nazi army is defeated in front of the heroes of the resistance, it practices its terrorism against defenseless civilians with the help of [US President Joe] Biden.”
Hamas contends that urgent ICC intervention is necessary to ensure accountability for what they characterize as acts of aggression against civilians. The group aims to prevent what they term as “Zionist war criminals” from evading justice and maintaining impunity. The situation remains tense as the international community observes developments in the aftermath of the conflict.
