Bronx, New York- On the early morning of the unforgettable day of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, two profoundly opposing events took place in New York City, a few miles away from each other. One is of destruction of lives, properties and the sanctity of Islamic religion, and the other one gave birth to Islamic Leadership School, the first and only full time Muslim in the Bronx.
While the destructive event has continued its local and global destructive path through various terrorist affiliates, Islamic Leadership School is right behind repairing broken inter-religious communities through its involvement in multi pronged long term peace programs. Without a doubt, these students are the best weapons we have against post 9/11 radicalization in New York and beyond.
To help encourage these pioneering students to continue their involvement with these peaceful missions, please join them on their second high school graduations to be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the school.
Hon. Fatima Shama, former New York City Immigrants Affairs Commissioner, was invited to will give Commencement Speech.
