Police in Uganda is holding 3 Nigerian con men for allegedly possessing fake dollars and conning a local sugar factory, Kakira
Sugar Limited of 35 million Uganda shillings(equivalent of about 1.4 million US dollars)

According to police,the three men were arrested in eastern town of Jinja, 80 kms from the capital Kampala. They have been identified as Valentine Ukeje, 37, Jordan Steven Asobasi, 32, and Towa Kawawa,32.

Jinja police commander, Jonathan Musinguzi said that the three men approached the Kakira Sugar cashier and conned him 35 million shillings.

He said,’Those three men, led by Ukeje went to the sugar factory at the end of last month, outsmarted one of the cashiers there and disappeared with sh35m. The incident was reported to us and we started investigations until when we arrested them.’

He said that on being arrested they were found with a lot of counterfeit dollar notes in their vehicle adding that they will be
charged with possession of counterfeit money and theft of money from Kakira sugar factory.

Of recent many Nigerians are traveling to Uganda.most of them claim to be businessmen but Ugandans have started realizing that they are mostly con men.
