Muslim Advisory Council launches annual New York City & State Interfaith Iftar
The Muslim Advisory Council has unveiled its inaugural New York City & State Interfaith Iftar, set to take place at the esteemed Dreiser Loop Community Center located at 177 Dreiser Loop, Co-op City, New York 10475, on the evening of Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
Recognizing New York as a melting pot of diverse religious communities, including the largest populations of Jews and Muslims nationwide, alongside burgeoning Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian communities, the event aims to exemplify peaceful coexistence and harmony among these faiths. Dubbed the ‘Abrahamic Sanctuary’, New York stands as a beacon of unity amidst religious diversity.
Distinguished guests anticipated to attend include the Governor, Mayor, Borough President, Senate Leader, House Speaker, as well as esteemed local political, religious, community, business, and educational leaders.
Additionally, the Muslim Advisory Council, a newly established statewide body of Muslim leaders dedicated to advising decision-makers and fostering constructive dialogue among New Yorkers of all backgrounds, spearheads this significant initiative.
