OIC Welcomes Azerbaijan–Armenia Peace Deal

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed strong support for the signing of a US-brokered peace agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia on Friday, August 8, 2025.
In a statement on Saturday, the OIC described the development as a “historic agreement” that would usher in a new era in bilateral relations.
According to the General Secretariat, the accord “will open a new page in the relations between the two countries, marked by understanding, friendship, and cooperation, and will strengthen the foundations of security, stability, and development in the Caucasus region.”
The OIC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting peace, stability, and cooperation among its member states and partners, while commending the role of the United States in facilitating the landmark deal.
