Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, has ridiculed the proposed plan of U.S. President Donald Trump to remove Palestinians from Gaza, suggesting instead that Israelis should be relocated to Greenland.
In an interview with Sky News, Araghchi said, “Instead of Palestinians, try to expel Israelis – take them to Greenland so they can kill two birds with one stone.”
The comment appears to be a jab at Trump’s previous interest in acquiring Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, citing its importance to U.S. national security.
Araghchi further discussed the impact of the ongoing conflict in the region, acknowledging setbacks for Iran’s allies like Hamas and Hezbollah.
However, he emphasized their resilience, stating, “Hamas and Hezbollah have been damaged. But at the same time, they are rebuilding themselves, because… this is an idea, this is a cause, this is an ideal that will always be there.”
