Saudi Arabia bans commercial use of national, religious, sectarian symbols
Saudi Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi, has announced a ban on the commercial use of national, religious, and sectarian symbols and logos.
The decision seeks to prevent their misuse or abuse in commercial activities.
Reports say under the new directive, violators will face legal actions based on municipal punitive regulations. The measures will be enforced 90 days after the decision’s publication in the official gazette, allowing businesses sufficient time to comply with the requirements.

The ministry previously prohibited the commercial use of Saudi Arabia’s flag, which features the name of God and the state emblem (two swords and a palm tree), as well as images and names of national leaders.
This ban extends to all forms of commercial transactions, including printed materials, products, media items, and special gifts.
