Israeli Golani Brigade commander vows to press on despite heavy losses in Lebanon
Brigadier General Adi Gannon, commander of Israel’s elite Golani Brigade, has affirmed his troops’ commitment to remain at the forefront of operations in southern Lebanon despite the loss of seven soldiers in combat with Hezbollah forces.
The casualties occurred during an intense battle in a Lebanese village on Wednesday, with reports initially citing six Israeli fatalities before the number was updated to seven.
General Gannon expressed resolve in the face of the losses, stating that his brigade will “continue to fight at the front of the attack in South Lebanon as we have fought since the outbreak of the war.”

The Golani Brigade, known for its role in some of Israel’s most challenging military engagements, remains central to the ongoing incursion into Lebanon.
At least 3,386 people have been killed and 14,417 wounded in Israeli attacks since the war on Gaza began.
Hezbollah attacks have killed about 100 civilians and soldiers in northern Israel, the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights in Syria and southern Lebanon over the last year, according to Israel.
