Saudi Arabia has once again reaffirmed its relentless backing for Palestine and Lebanon as the country’s cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, gathered in Riyadh on Tuesday to review recent high-level diplomatic engagements and outcomes of the just concluded summit.

A focal point was the extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit held in Riyadh on Monday and the crown prince’s meetings with leaders from various nations.

The cabinet commended the summit’s outcomes, highlighting the signing of the Tripartite Mechanism Document to Support Palestine, a collaborative initiative by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League, and the African Union.

Amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis from Israeli military actions in the region, Saudi Arabia repledged its support for the Palestinian and Lebanese people. Additionally, the cabinet encouraged global collaboration on the two-state solution, a Saudi-led initiative promoted through the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee in cooperation with the European Union and Norway.

The crown prince also briefed the cabinet on recent diplomatic discussions, including meetings with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and a call with US President-elect Donald Trump.

The cabinet expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s Arab Week at UNESCO event in Paris, aimed at fostering cultural dialogue and mutual understanding.

On the domestic front, members praised the recent success of a Saudi medical team in completing the world’s first fully robotic heart transplant and celebrated the Beban 24 Forum in Riyadh, which generated over SR35.4 billion ($9.42 billion) in initiatives to strengthen entrepreneurship and increase small and medium enterprise contributions to the national economy.
