Two men in their 40s were killed in northern Israel, close to the town of Nahariya, following rockets fired from Lebanon on Tuesday.

The Israeli military confirmed a barrage of 10 rockets fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. Some rockets were intercepted, while “others fell in the area.” Sirens also sounded in central Israel, including Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion airport, with three projectiles from Lebanon intercepted.

Emergency medic Dor Vakinin reported that a warehouse was struck by a rocket, with emergency teams arriving on the scene “quickly.”

He described “a lot of destruction and an active fire,” adding, “We performed medical examinations on two men who were lying unconscious and suffering from severe injuries to their bodies. Unfortunately, their injuries were too severe, and after the examinations, we had to determine the death of both of them.”

The Iran-backed group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching missiles at an Israeli air base south of Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, Israel responded with strikes targeting Hezbollah strongholds in southern Beirut and southern Lebanon, according to the Israeli military.

The ongoing exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah have intensified following an unprecedented attack by Hamas militants from Gaza on October 7, 2023. Tensions have escalated as Israel continues an air and ground offensive against Hezbollah positions, initially launched in September.
