France has taken a strong stance against Israel’s participation in the upcoming Euronaval defense show, banning Israeli delegations from setting up exhibits or showcasing hardware.

This decision comes on the heels of rising tensions between Israel and France, sparked by President Emmanuel Macron’s criticism of civilian casualties in Israel’s campaigns against Hezbollah and Hamas.

Macron’s comments have been particularly pointed, with him emphasizing that halting weapon exports to Israel is crucial to ending the conflicts in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

“The French government informed Euronaval of its decision to approve the participation of Israeli delegations at Euronaval 2024, without any stand or exhibition of equipment,” said the organizers of the show which is due to start on November 4 in Paris.

It’s clear that France is taking a firm position on this issue, and it’s not just limited to the Euronaval defense show.

In recent times, a French court has also extended a ban on Israeli companies participating in the Eurosatory defense event.

The move by France is significant, as it highlights the growing international pressure on Israel to address its military actions and their impact on civilians.

In Gaza, at least 42,409 people have been killed and 99,153 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023.

Now fewer than 1,139 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken hostage.
