As part of the effort to provide humanitarian aid and relief to those in need outside the Kingdom’s borders, KSrelief, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s aid agency, has dispatched food aid to vulnerable communities in South Sudan, Syria, and Kyrgyzstan.

In Syria, 6,870 people affected by the earthquake in Idlib received 1,310 food packages and 1,310 hygiene kits. This assistance is crucial, especially considering the country’s worsening humanitarian situation due to the earthquakes and economic crisis, which has led to increased needs for basic water and sanitation services.

In South Sudan, KSrelief’s Food Basket Distribution Project in Bahr El-Ghazal state benefited 3,700 families, including displaced individuals, the elderly, and those with special needs.

Sudan is in a state of comatose after violent clashes broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), on April 15, 2023.

The clashes have displaced over 10.2 million people, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), asylum seekers, and refugees.

Meanwhile, in Kyrgyzstan’s Talas region, 435 food parcels were provided, supporting 2,175 individuals. These efforts are part of KSrelief’s broader 2024 food aid distribution project, aiming to secure 8,100 packages for 35,000 individuals.

KSrelief’s humanitarian work extends beyond food aid. Recently, the agency contributed $3.5 million to UNICEF’s nutrition, water, and sanitation programs in Syria, supporting 75,000 vulnerable people, including 51,000 children and 24,000 pregnant and lactating women.

These initiatives demonstrate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting affected communities worldwide through KSrelief’s relief and humanitarian projects.
