Hezbollah confirms missile attacks on Tel Aviv
Lebanese Hezbollah group has confirmed it carried out a ballistic missile towards Tel Aviv at 6:30am Wednesday.
The attack, the group said, was carried out in support of the “valiant and honourable resistance” of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and “in defence of Lebanon and its people”.
The spokesperson for the group explained that they had targeted the headquarters of Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, claiming it is “responsible for assassinating leaders and blowing up pagers and wireless devices”.

Israel has been accused of carrying out the attacks that triggered the fighting last week, though it has not taken responsibility for them. According to Israeli media outlet Haaretz Ynet, this marks the first time Hezbollah has targeted the Tel Aviv metropolitan area.
The Israeli military reported that air raid sirens were activated around Tel Aviv and central Israel, but the missile was intercepted, with no damage or casualties reported. It also released a map showing the locations where the sirens were triggered.
Since September 23, Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon have killed at least 569 people, including 50 children and 94 women.
The attacks have also left at least 1,835 people wounded. In retaliation, Hezbollah fired a series of missiles at Israeli airbases.
Civilians in southern and eastern Lebanon have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety.
