British Airways has suspended flights to Israel until Thursday, citing rising tensions between Hezbollah and Israel.

The airline announced the decision on Tuesday, stating: “We’ve been continually monitoring the situation in the Middle East and have taken the operational decision to cancel our flights to and from Tel Aviv up to and including Thursday, 26 September.”

Other airlines have followed suit by adjusting services to and from the region. The Algerian airline, AIR ARABIA, suspended flights to and from Lebanon until further notice. The United Arab Emirates-based low-cost carrier, took similar steps as it ended flights from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to Beirut on Sept. 24.

Egypt’s flag carrier cancelled flights to and from Beirut starting on Sept. 24. AIR FRANCE-KLM, Air India, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific and several others are left out.

The precautionary measure comes as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies, with heightened security concerns in the region.

Passengers affected by the cancellations will be notified and provided with alternative arrangements. The airlines will continue to assess the situation before resuming services.
