The Chinese embassy in Israel has issued a warning, advising citizens to leave Israel “as soon as possible,” citing heightened tensions between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah group.

“Currently, the situation along the Israel-Lebanon border is extremely tense, with frequent military conflicts,” the embassy stated. “The security situation in Israel remains severe, complex, and unpredictable.”

The embassy urged Chinese citizens in Israel to “return home or relocate to safer areas as soon as possible.”

The warning comes as Israel and Hezbollah threaten to escalate cross-border attacks, despite international calls for restraint. The tensions follow Israel’s airstrike in southern Beirut, which killed Ibrahim Aqil, head of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force.

The airstrike was preceded by coordinated explosions of communication devices across Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday, resulting in 39 deaths and nearly 3,000 injuries. Lebanon has blamed Israel for the attacks.

This is not China’s first warning to its citizens in the region. Last month, the embassy advised Chinese nationals in Lebanon to leave following an Israeli strike that killed a senior Palestinian militant.
