Iran arrests 12 accused of spying for Israel, plotting security threats
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards has announced the arrest of 12 people suspected of collaborating with Israel and plotting against Iran’s security.
According to the Guards, the operatives were working to undermine Iran’s security, amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The Revolutionary Guards stated in a statement, “As the Zionist regime (Israel) and their Western backers, most notably the United States, have not succeeded in their sinister goals against the people of Gaza and Lebanon, they are now seeking to spread the crisis to Iran with a series of actions planned against our country’s security.”

The arrests were made across six Iranian provinces, although the exact timing was not disclosed. This development comes on the heels of heightened tensions following the explosion of thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon, widely blamed on Israel.
The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has intensified, with exchange of heavy cross-border fire, parallel to the ongoing Gaza war. Additionally, the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last July has further fueled tensions, with Iran pointing fingers at Israel, which has neither confirmed nor denied involvement.
