The State of Kuwait is in mourning following the passing of former Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who died at the age of 82.

Born in 1942, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak had a distinguished career in public service, holding various key positions since 1968.

Before his death, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak’s notable roles included, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Amiri Diwan, Hawally Governor from March 19, 1979. He also served as the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Minister of Information, Advisor at His Highness the Amir’s Office.

He also served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense from February 14, 2001, and later became First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister and Minister of Defense in 2006.

Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak was appointed Prime Minister in November 2011, a position he held until 2019. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
