Iraq became China’s fourth-largest oil supplier in June

The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China announced on Tuesday that Iraq was the fourth largest oil supplier to China during June.

China’s General Administration of Customs revealed that Iraq’s oil exports to Chinese refineries during June 2024 reached nearly 9.8 million barrels, an increase of 72.1 percent compared to June 2023, when Iraq’s oil exports to China were approximately 5.7 million barrels, Shafaq News reported.

In May, Iraq’s oil supplies to China were 5.1 million barrels.

The Chinese authority clarified that Iraq was the fourth among the top ten countries exporting oil to independent Chinese refineries in June.

China’s largest oil suppliers in June were Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.

Malaysia exported around 7.1 million metric tons of oil to China in June, followed by Saudi Arabia with 3.07 million metric tons of oil, and Russia with nearly 2.37 million metric tons of oil.
