SalamAir launches first direct air link between Baghdad, Salalah
The Iraqi Ambassador to Oman, Qias Al-Amery, announced on Wednesday that SalamAir will start the first direct route between Baghdad and Salalah.
Al-Amery said via X, formerly Twitter, that the first flight between Iraq and Oman will take place on June 28.
The Iraqi diplomat praised the decision as the ultimate achievement of the Iraqi embassy’s relentless efforts to deepen bilateral relations and promote travel between the two countries.
In March, SalamAir, the first low-cost airline in Oman, had a spectacular inauguration ceremony for its new headquarters in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
As an important step forward, this new office is the first Omani airline in Iraq.
This important link has allowed for improved connectivity and collaboration between the two countries.
The opening of the Baghdad office is indicative of SalamAir’s commitment to growing its network and providing customers with more reasonably priced travel alternatives.
Direct flights between Muscat and Baghdad were successfully resumed on August 31, 2023, by SalamAir, following a 20-year break.
The price of the air fare on SalamAir’s Muscat-Baghdad flights starts at 97 Omani Riyals (approximately $252).
